25 days: The life of a Super Hero
Today it is not about me.
I have the honor and pleasure of knowing Josh Cassidy. Yes, we both went to school to become successful Illustrators (people who run a freelance business that creates powerful images to communicate our client's needs).

But Josh Cassidy is so much more than that. Is the name familiar to you yet? He is our very own AWESOME Canadian Paralympic Athlete competing right now in the 2012 London Paralympics! I just got goosebumps from writing this! And he is a very sexy man too :)

Today I read a post on Josh's Facebook about what it means to be an athlete. It kept reminding me about the secret life of super heroes and about that part of their lives that they cannot share with anyone else in order for them to maintain their secret identity. There is suffering but there is also a great joy in being a super hero, because super heroes save people's lives.
When you are at this level there is only one shot. There is no time to lose focus, there is no time for regrets, there is absolutely no time for excuses. You focus, you take one day at a time and you meet your training quotas 100%. You become whatever you need to become to get where you want to go... and yes the reality is some aspects of your life end up suffering for this. But just like the seasons, there are seasons of war and seasons of celebration.
I just want to say that Josh is like a super hero, he has given up so much of what he wants to do for what needs to get done. He has a life commitment of reaching perfection and who knows how many people have been moved to live better, healthier and more powerful lives out of just having the pleasure of having met him.
